Heidi has a new dress and she is really excited about it!

Friday after Heidi was born my family was able to come down for the weekend to see the latest addition to the group. They blessed us with their love, and helped us paint and finish off the last few touches on our house projects!
Everything is finally back in its place! Janelle says we’re not allowed to think about the next project any time soon

After a great time at the hospital it was time for things to get real and to take our beautiful daughter home to see her house! everything looked so huge in comparison to her tiny self. The car seat was enormous, and her crib could fit about 20 of her. We love her so much and are happy to have her home with us.

Heidi Grace Garman was born at 11am on April 6th 2011. She is 6 lbs 10 oz and 18 in long. She is more beautiful than I ever could imagine. We were praying so much that she would be born today. She now makes third generation april 6 birthdays, sharing with her aunt Janelle Humbert and her Great Grandma Norma!
It was quite a long night. Janelle had started having contractions on monday that stayed about 15-20 minutes apart. Just enough to keep her from sleeping. Tuesday she was able to get a short nap in. When I got home from work on Tuesday we started going for walks. around 9:30 we started timing the contractions. just before 11 pm they started coming regularly every 3-4 minutes. We tried to wait it out as long as possible at home and checked into the hospital around 2am when the contractions were getting rough.
had a long night of counting contractions and moving around the room as much as possible. Once morning rolled around little Heidi decided she didn’t want to be in the right position. She was a little posterior and not ready to come out yet, and all our pushing didn’t seem to be helping too much. So we decided to get some light pain killers (phetninol?) to help Janelle’s blood pressure. That helped with the blood pressure but not with moving the baby to the right spot. So we decided to get so pitocin to get those contractions working! That, with lots of prayer and moving positions got her into the right spot! Janelle was awesome and able to push that baby down! We finally got to a point where we could see the head! Janelle was using a birthing stool and was able to reach down and feel the head, and if that wasn’t motivation enough they got a mirror so she could see. Once she saw that baby’s little head coming it was all over she buckled down like a champ and Heidi Grace was born.
We got to hold her right away while they cleaned her up and we wept with joy over our new baby and I even got to cut the cord!
We had thought a long time about what we would name our child. We wanted the name to have meaning and describe the heart and spirit we pray for our baby to have. Heidi means noble and serene and we pray for her from
1 Peter 3:4
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
This is our hope and prayer for her to have a soft heart and a gentle and quiet spirit. We have no idea what God has in store for us but we trust in His goodness.
We chose Grace after her mommy to remind us of the Grace God gives us daily as Christians.
We want to thank all of our family and friends who have been so supportive for us in the past few weeks and who we know will continue to support and pray for us in the next few weeks months and even years. We definitely couldn’t do it without each of you and more importantly without your prayers. God has been so good in bringing us through this delivery safely and without complications. Mom and baby are both doing great! pray for Janelle as she recovers from some 1st degree tears and as we try to figure out how to be parents!!
Thank you all, we love you and can’t wait for you to meet our newest family member.
love
Tyler, Janelle, and Heidi
